يعد ابن الهيثم أحد الرواد الباحثين في علم البصريات أن لم يکن هو رائدهم والمؤسس للنظريات الحديثة بهذا العلم، وقد ألف المئات من الکتب والمقالات من أهمها (کتاب المناظر)؛ الذي لم يکن له أثر فقط على مفکري القرن الثالث عشر ولکن على علماء العصر الحديث. حيث تم تناوله بالبحث والتنقيح من قبل مختلف التخصصات: الرياضية والفيزيائية وأسس الجمال، ... إلخ، ويقوم البحث هنا بقراءة تحليلية لهذا الکتاب من وجهة النظر المعمارية وذلک للوقوف على ما قدمه من مفاهيم لتأثير الاضاءة الطبيعية على الفراغات الداخلية في ذاک العصر، ومعرفة القاعدة المعرفية في ذاک الشأن عند القائمين على عملية البناء في ذاک الوقت؛ من خلال مما استقرأه ابن الهيثم من ملاحظات لتجاربه المستخدمة وسيط متکرر؛ وهو الفراغ المعماري، وذلک بهدف اثبات نظرياته في علم البصريات. Ibn al-Haitham, also known in the West as Alhazen, is one of the greatest researches in the field of optics, if not the pioneer and the founder of modern theories in this science. He had hundreds books and articles, but His greatest work, (Kitāb al-manāẓir), which had a major influence not only on 13th-century thinkers, but also on later scientists. This book was studied and revised by various disciplines: Mathematics, physics, Aesthetic ... Etc. The research here is an analytical reading of this book from the architectural studies, in order to find out the concepts of Ibn Haitham, from his inductive and experimental method by using architectural space; a room, to prove his theories in optic, to know the effect of natural light on the interior spaces and the knowledge of builders and architects in this field at that time.
